Heather Hanson is a Senior Science Writer at Global Science & Technology in support of NASA’s Earth Observing System Project Science Office, located at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. She received a Master of Science in Geosciences (Meteorology) from Mississippi State University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a concentration in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences from Salisbury University in 2008.
Heather develops, writes, and edits various informal-education materials targeted at informing the general public including brochures, booklets, posters, bookmarks, postcards, and other reference materials related to NASA Earth Science. She is also an Assistant/Technical Editor for The Earth Observer—a bi-monthly NASA Earth science newsletter. Prior to working at NASA, Heather served as a Program Assistant at the American Meteorological Society, Education Program in Washington, DC where she gained firsthand experience in providing scientific input in the development and dissemination of real-time meteorological, oceanographic, and climatological course material.
