Dr. Armaghan Abed-Elmdoust is an Associate Scientist with Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR) at the Hydrological Sciences Lab at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Her research interests primarily focus on Hydrologic Modeling, Advances of Physically-based Artificial Intelligence in Flood Predictions, Landscape Evolution, Conjunctive Allocation of Surface and Groundwater Resources, Inter-basin Water Transfer Systems, River Networks, and Process-based modeling of coupled human-water systems. Previously, Dr. Abed-Elmdoust has been affiliated with Jackson School of Geosciences of the University of Texas at Austin as an NCED Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Abed-Elmdoust received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydrology) from the University of Tehran, where she received the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award for her works on Water Resources Management using Advanced Optimization Techniques.
