My general research interests lie in radiation and climate, focusing on the impact of solar variability on climate, climate modeling, aerosol forcing in the vicinity of clouds.
Dr. Wen received his B.S. from Peking University in 1982, M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from Purdue University in 1987, and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from University of Chicago 1992. He joined JCET/UMBC and NASA/Goddard in 1997. Now he is with GESTAR and NASA/Goddard. His research interests include Sun climate connection from SORCE observations and climate modeling, and aerosol in the vicinity of clouds using MODIS, CALIPSO, CERES observations and 3D radiative transfer models.
