Research Interests

Susanne Craig is a physicist by training who gradually evolved into an optical oceanographer. She uses optical measurements, both in situ and from space, to reveal ecological and biogeochemical phenomena in Earth's oceans and water bodies. Her interests include phytoplankton ecology, ocean color remote sensing, bio-optical measurements, ocean color algorithm development, radiative transfer modeling, machine learning, and ocean-atmosphere interactions.
