In 2021, NASA Goddard's SED created two new recognition awards "to align with their core values." The first was for Diversity, Inclusion and Equity, and the second was for Mentoring. Per Mark Clampin, Director of SED, "We are committed to cultivating and maintaining a work environment of inclusion, trust, respect, and opportunity for our colleagues."
Both the DI Working Group and the NGAPS group were recognized with the D&I award. The NASA Goddard Association of Postdoctoral Scientists (NGAPS) members included Erin Dawkins, Danielle Simkus, Melissa Ugelow, Monica Vidaurri, Olga Tweedy, Mykhaylo Shumko, Joe Renaud, Kira Olsen, Mehashwari Neelam, Ramin Lolachi, Timothy Lahmers, Vincent Kofman, Christine Knudson, Kyle Robert Helson, Danielle Gurgew, Bea Gallardo-Lacourt, Mariel Friberg-Aponte, Alex David-Uraz, Natalie Curran, J. Blake Clark, (616/USRA), Luoth Chou, Jenna Cann, and William Gregory Blumberg. Congratulations and thank you for your efforts.
