This year’s Robert H. Goddard Honor Awards were announced in late June. We learned that the Center received 358 nominations, and a total of 196 selections were made (142 individual and 54 teams). We congratulate the following GESTAR members who were recognized for their efforts and were recipients of a 2019 RHG Honor Award.
Robert H. Goddard Award of Merit: Orville “Chris” St. Cyr (670/USRA)
Earth Science Multimedia Team: Lauren Ward, Katy Mersmann, Jefferson Beck and Ryan Fitzgibbons (all 130/USRA) were recognized for their contributions to the NASA Explorers season, Cryosphere. Patrick Lynch (GSFC) also was recognized.
The Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) Project Science Team: GESTAR members included Andrea Andrew, Andy Sayer, Bridget Seegers, Dirk Aurin, Inia Soto Ramos, Ivona Cetinic, Susanne Craig, and Violeta Sanjuan Calzado (all 616/USRA).
LUVOIR SSAT (Science Support and Analysis Team): Among the awardees is Thomas Fauchez (699/USRA).
IMERG Development Team: Among the awardees is Jackson Tan (613/USRA) - “For outstanding performance in developing and supporting Version 06 of the IMERG precipitation dataset, which spans over 19 years.”
